Personally if you are a twilight fan I think this is great to pick up. It shows you a whole other side from the golden eyed vampires we all know and adore. It shows how the red vampires are, how they live, and how Victoria had been planning the whole attack on the Cullens. How the newborns had been how horribly they worked together and so on and so forth. The neat thing is you see how Bree communicated with Edward to tell him what was going on through her thoughts.
I was totally shocked about the Volturi but did add a great twist and worked so well with the story line through Eclipse. And it doesnt have actual chapter. Literally one long story.
All in all I found this to be an enjoyable read even though no it didnt go with the series per say. But it does give you insight on the other side of Stephenie Meyers imagination of the "red" vampires.
